Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Music #13

Each week I feature 10 groovy albums that have appeared on the Billboard 200 (aka Top LPs) chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new albums will be added to the list.

Last week Barbra Streisand claimed the top spot with her 1985 Broadway Album, which received 29 votes out of the 173 cast. And this week she will be challenged by Olivia Newton-John, Madonna and the Carpenters.

1) The Broadway Album/Barbra Streisand (Week 2) - #7 the week of December 14, 1985

2) On the Radio: Greatest Hits Volumes I & II/Donna Summer (LW #1, W3) - #2 the week of December 15, 1979

3) Grease soundtrack (LW #3, W12) - #6 the week of December 16, 1978

4) True Colors/Cyndi Lauper (LW #2, W4) - #11 the week of December 13, 1986

5) Faith/George Michael (LW #5, W7) - #5 the week of December 12, 1987

6) Mary Poppins soundtrack (DEBUT) - #14 the week of December 12, 1964

7) The Singles: 1969–1973/Carpenters (DEBUT) - #8 the week of December 15, 1973

8) Don't Stop Believin'/Olivia Newton-John (DEBUT) - #30 the week of December 11, 1976

9) Saturday Night Fever: The Original Movie Sound Track (DEBUT) - #31 the week of December 10, 1977

10) Like a Virgin/Madonna (DEBUT) - #4 the week of December 15, 1984

Goodness, Marc! It's not often you toss me a week that has such EASY selections. This one was a total no-brainer (for me, at least). Dame Julie Andrews & Dick VanDyke (aka Mary Poppins), Barbra and, of course, Karen & Richard! Easy as that. =)
