Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: Cyndi Lauper just wants to have fun

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that have appeared on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week Donna Summer remained at the top with "Last Dance", which received 34 votes out of the 191 cast. And this week she will be challenged by the Petula Clark, Cher and Cyndi Lauper.

1) "Last Dance"/Donna Summer (Last Week #1, W32) - 21 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1978

2) "Crazy"/Patsy Cline (LW #2, W13) - 21 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1961-62

3) "One Less Bell to Answer"/The 5th Dimension (LW #3, W5) - 19 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1970-71

4) "The Winner Takes It All"/ABBA (W2) - #9 the week of March 7, 1981

5) "(Theme from) Valley of the Dolls"/Dionne Warwick (W2) - #2 the week of March 9, 1968

6) "My Love"/Petula Clark (DEBUT) - #7 the week of March 5, 1966

7) "The Way of Love"/Cher (DEBUT) - #9 the week of March 11, 1972

8) "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"/Cyndi Lauper (DEBUT) - #2 the week of March 10, 1984

9) "Life in a Northern Town"/The Dream Academy (DEBUT) - #9 the week of March 8, 1986

10) "What Have I Done to Deserve This?"/Pet Shop Boys (with Dusty Springfield) (DEBUT) - #5 the week of March 5, 1988

I'm sticking with my (current) 3 favourites this week: Miss. Cline, The 5th Dimension and those ever-fabulous Swedes... ABBA. (Although there were a couple others that made me stop and think...)

I'm shocked, Lance! I thought for sure you would vote for Petula.
