Web Series Worth Watching: EastSiders Debuts on December 14

If you haven't yet voted for your favorite web series in the Second Annual Groovy Awards - honoring the best of 2012 - click here. Voting ends at midnight on Saturday, December 29, and the winners will be announced on Sunday, December 30.

Web Series of the Week: EastSiders
Created by award-winning playwright Kit Williamson, the new dark comedy, EastSiders, explores the aftermath of infidelity on a gay couple, Cal (Williamson) and Thom (Van Hansis, whom I fondly remember as Luke Snyder on As the World Turns). The handsome Matthew McKelligon also stars as Jeremy, the guy whom Thom cheats with. All the drama begins on December 14, and judging from its intriguing trailer, this series might become my next web series addiction.

For more information on EastSiders, go to eastsiderstheseries.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

Other web series worth watching this week are:

The Cavanaughs
In the latest episode of this soap opera, a few weeks have passed since the dramatic hostage crisis, in which Detective Drew was shot and Maddie was stabbed. Be sure to tune in to learn their fates - and also meet Noreen's new friend! To catch up on The Cavanaughs, go to www.the-cavanaughs.com or subscribe to its YouTube channel. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Fumbling thru the Pieces
This comedy series continues as Barb introduces her new friend Harry to Ellie and Vince, Stella pays Ellie an unexpected visit, and Bianca DeVanity (Katie Caprio from the web series, DeVanity) makes a cameo appearance. To watch Fumbling from the beginning, go to www.fumblingthruthepieces.com. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Hustling
I always enjoy this sexy dramedy, but the latest episode is especially good. Ryan hooks up with Dr. Gabe Bermudez (guest star Wilson Cruz) before attending an underground supper club, where he meets an unhappy married couple. To watch the first season of Hustling, go to www.hustling.tv or subscribe to its YouTube Channel. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Outside The Box
In the latest episode of this hilarious musical comedy series, actors Kevin Symons and Damon Kirsche agree to star in a new musical by the Outside the Box Musical Theatre Group. To watch the first season, visit BroadwayWorld.com. You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook.

Steam Room Stories
In the latest episode, the hunky Ben Palacios explains that the series is moving to the GWIST.TV network on YouTube beginning January 14. To watch more hot studs, go to www.steamroomstories.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

Thurston
Check out this drama's Season 2 trailer, which features newest cast member Colleen Zenk (who played Barbara Ryan on As the World Turns for 32 years) as Agnes Snead, the mother of the naughty Snead boys. Then catch up on the series with three more episodes from its first season. For more information on Thurston, go to www.thurston-series.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook.
