Web Series Worth Watching: The Cavanaughs Return for a 4th Season

Web Series of the Week: The Cavanaughs
This groovy series returns for a fourth and final season, which will focus on the dramatic "Who Shot Hope" storyline. In the season opener, Justin sits in jail for a crime he didn't commit, Charlotte suspects Maddie might be the one who pulled the trigger, and Noreen takes an unexpected ride that could be dangerous. I'm looking forward to seeing how all these characters end up before creator Adrian Morales begins his new spin-off series in 2013.

To catch up on the first three seasons of The Cavanaughs, go to www.the-cavanaughs.com or subscribe to its YouTube channel. You can also follow the series on Facebook and Twitter.

Other web series worth watching this week are:

Anacostia
Yesterday I watched the 3rd Season Finale of this web series, which featured a gay wedding and many dramatic cliffhangers, and it made me wonder, "What have I been missing?" So I began at the very beginning with Anacostia's first episode, which debuted back in 2009, and after viewing the first two seasons of this addictive soap opera, I now consider myself a fan and have added it to my list of "Web Series Worth Watching".

Anacostia tells the Knots Landing-inspired story of four friends - Sean, Salina, Mia and Nicole - living in a small residential community in Washington, D.C., as they deal with all kinds of drama. Below you can check out the first three episodes of Season 3, in which Sean (played by creator Anthony Anderson) realizes he still has feelings for an ex-lover while planning to marry his current boyfriend, Salina begins her community service for a hit-and-run accident, Mia fears that she might have cancer, and Nicole's marriage hits the rocks after the tragic death of her husband's illegitimate son. Meanwhile, Salina's nasty nemesis Nancy - and one of my favorite characters - says that she has become a "changed woman" after finding God, and local madam Dominique decides that there can only be one bitch in charge when her boss Alexis (played by As the World Turns veteran Martha Byrne) arrives in town. As you can see, the series is overflowing with sudsy drama worth tuning in.

However, I would highly recommend that anyone new to Anacostia do as I did and watch the first two seasons at www.anacostia-thewebseries.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

Ave 43
This deliciously twisted soap opera continues with its 48th episode, in which Barbara tries to help Dierdre escape, Mike eats the Immaculate Pancake of Highland Park, and Tim enjoys watching some brotherly love. If you haven't experienced Ave 43 before, I recommend that you start at the very beginning on its YouTube channel. You can also become a fan of the series on Facebook.

The Bay
Below you can watch the two-part Two Year Anniversary Special of this delicious drama, featuring a Top 10 Countdown of memorable moments with hosts Kristos Andrews (Peter), Mary Beth Evans (Sara) and Dylan Bruce (Brian). To get caught up on The Bay, go to www.thebaytheseries.com. You can also become a member of The Bay's Facebook Group and follow the series on Twitter.

Hunting Season
Things get steamy at home for Alex when Reese pays him a visit in the latest episode of this gay Sex and the City. To catch up on the series, go to HuntingSeason.tv. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

The Outs
This groovy gay web series continues with its fifth episode, "Fucking it Up", in which we learn how Mitchell and Jack broke up - with a little help from Oona's boyfriend Drew. To catch up on The Outs, go to www.theouts.tv or become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

Steam Room Stories
In the latest episode, the hunky Ben Palacios does some shirtless singing in the steam room. To watch more hot studs, go to www.steamroomstories.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.

Where the Bears Are
This gay comedy series continues with two new episodes, in which Nelson competes in the Mr. Bear Chest 2012 contest hosted by Hot Toddy. To catch up on Where the Bears Are, go to wherethebearsare.tv. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.
