Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: If Cher Could Turn Back Time

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week Cyndi Lauper reclaimed the top spot with "Time After Time", which received 24 votes out of the 146 cast. And this week she will be challenged by Dionne Warwick, Sérgio Mendes and Cher.

1) "Time After Time"/Cyndi Lauper (Last Week #4, Week 16) - 20 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1984

2) "Downtown"/Petula Clark (LW #1, W36) - 15 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1964-65

3) "Last Dance"/Donna Summer (LW #2, W9) - #98 the week of September 23, 1978

4) "Take a Chance on Me"/ABBA (LW #5, W11) - 18 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1978

This week, it's Miss. Clark, ABBA & Cher. With a little help from plastic surgery, I think Cher already has "turned back time"!

I agree, Lance - but you gotta love Cher!
