Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: Believe it or not, it's The Greatest American Hero

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week ABBA and Donna Summer shared the top spot with their songs, "Take a Chance on Me" and "Last Dance", which both received 23 votes out of the 143 cast. And this week they will be challenged by Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and the theme from the 1981-83 TV series, The Greatest American Hero.

1) "Take a Chance on Me"/ABBA (Last Week #4, Week 6) - #81 the week of August 19, 1978

1) "Last Dance"/Donna Summer (LW #2, W4) - #3 the week of August 19, 1978

3) "Downtown"/Petula Clark (LW #1, W31) - 15 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1964-65

4) "Time After Time"/Cyndi Lauper (LW #3, W11) - #91 the week of August 18, 1984

5) "Band of Gold"/Freda Payne (LW #5, W4) - #7 the week of August 15, 1970

6) "Sunny"/Bobby Hebb (DEBUT) - #2 the week of August 20, 1966

7) "Sweet Caroline"/Neil Diamond (DEBUT) - #4 the week of August 16, 1969

8) "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours"/Stevie Wonder (DEBUT) - #3 the week of August 15, 1970

9) "Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)"/The Hollies (DEBUT) - #3 the week of August 19, 1972

10) "Theme from The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not)"/Joey Scarbury (DEBUT) - #2 the week of August 15, 1981
