Web Series Worth Watching: Where the Bears Are Debuts on August 1
Web Series of the Week: Where the Bears Are
Now this new web series looks like a lot of fun - at least from its hilarious preview trailer. Part Golden Girls (one of the creators actually wrote for the beloved sitcom), part Murder, She Wrote and totally gay, this comedy/mystery tells the story of three friends living together in Los Angeles as they attempt to solve the murder of a party guest who turns up dead in their bathroom. Also, the hunky, hairy character in the white shorts in the above pic is named "Hot Toddy" - and he certainly is, isn't he?
Where the Bears Are debuts on August 1, and DEEP DISH will be featuring every episode. For more information on the series, go to wherethebearsare.tv. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.
PLEASE NOTE: The next Web Series Worth Watching will be on Sunday, July 15.
Other web series worth watching this week are:
The Bay
This addictive drama ends its second season with Sara Garrett in danger, more surprising information from Igor Chambers, and an unexpected visitor for Capt. Sanders. To get caught up on The Bay, go to www.thebaytheseries.com. You can also become a member of The Bay's Facebook Group and follow the series on Twitter.
The Cavanaughs
Here is the Season 4 trailer for this indie websoap, which returns for more drama on September 27. So who shot Hope? Well, it looks like the new season will be centered around this mystery as well as some intriguing new plot twists. I can't wait! To catch up on the first three seasons of The Cavanaughs, go to www.the-cavanaughs.com or subscribe to its YouTube channel. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.
Empire
Here is the Season 4 trailer for this sordid soap opera, which returns for more sex and scandal on July 17. I'm looking forward to watching this deliciously entertaining series again! To watch Empire from the very beginning, go to www.empiretheseries.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.
The Outs
This groovy gay web series by the talented Adam Goldman continues with its third episode, "Moon River" - and, of course, with a title like that, I'm already loving it. There are many great moments including Oona's job interview, Cher performing West Side Story, Jack watching Pretty Woman with a friend, Mitchell's awkward invitation to a cute delivery guy, and the return of the adorable Scruffy. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this show, which everyone should be watching.
To learn more about The Outs, go to www.theouts.tv or become a fan on Facebook and Twitter.
Ragged Isle
In the latest episode of this mysterious drama, Sheriff Dalton and Agent Thorne butt heads over a dead body. For more Ragged Isle, go to www.raggedisle.com. You can also become a fan on Facebook and follow the series on Twitter.
Steve Hayes: Tired Old Queen at the Movies
In celebration of Gay Pride, the fabulous film critic reviews his favorite comedy, Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot (1959), starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe. For more TOQ, subscribe to his YouTube Channel. You can also become a fan on Facebook or follow Steve on Twitter.

Thanks so much for sharing our series Ragged Isle with your readers! Very cool of you. :)
I'll have to check out Where the Bears Are. It sort of reminds me of Rick Copp's "Actor's Guide to ..." Jarris Jarvis books.
So cool you're including Ragged Isle. It ROCK's and filmed in my "back yard"
Thank you, Barry, for creating such a groovy web series!
And thank you, Mr. Varitek, for checking out some of my recommended web series!
