Remembering Sherman Hemsley 1938 - 2012



Actor Sherman Hemsley, who died today at age 74, appeared in many films, including Love at First Bite (1979), Stewardess School (1986) and Screwed (2000). He also starred on Broadway in the 1970 musical, Purlie, and on television in the 1986-91 sitcom, Amen. However, Hemsley will always be best remembered for his TV role as George Jefferson on All in the Family (1973-75) and The Jeffersons (1975-85).
