The Top 112 Groovy Gay Movies to Watch in 2012
In 2009 and 2010 I posted my list of the Top 100 Groovy Gay Movies (in chronological order), so this year I decided to revisit the list - and discovered that I was unable to narrow it down to only 100 films. So I've selected 112 groovy gay movies to watch in 2012, adding 31 new films (in bold) that were recommended by readers or that I saw in the last two years and enjoyed. I have not included any miniseries or short films, and a few of my choices just have a memorable gay character or scene or simply give off a very queer vibe. And, finally, I know that I've not included EVERY groovy gay movie, but these are the ones I like or love the most (and, FYI, the above photo is of John Paul Pitoc in Trick).

Okay, check out "You Should Meet My Son" and eCupid"--both available on ITunes and both will make this list once you watch them!
This post is getting permanently bookmarked. Whenever I'm at a loss for what movie to watch, I'm coming back here. Thanks for the great list.
So disappointed tha C.R.A.Z.Y didn't make the list. It's my all time favorite gay movie :(

Anonymous, C.R.A.Z.Y. did make the list at #95 - I love the film.
Michael, glad you liked my list!
Atlteacher, I did give You Should Meet My Son! a favorable review on DEEP DISH last year (see link below). Unfortunately, many enjoyable films did not make my list since I only allowed myself 112 selections.

My gawd, I guess I'm not really that gay (sniff). I didn't even recognize most of the films cited. Or maybe I'm just getting old.
It's a great list of films. Of course there are others, but you created the list and it reflects what you have seen. I hated Can't Stop The Music, Billy's First Hollywood Kiss, and Jeffrey. I loved The Living End (any Gregg Arakis films), Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Love Valour Compassion and so many more on your list. I had forgotten just how funny The Ritz is. Seeing some famous actors early in their careers was fun too.
I hope you enjoyed researching this list as much as I enjoyed wandering through it.
Scrumrob, I'm so glad you enjoyed wandering through my list. I included Can't Stop the Music mainly for the "YMCA" number, which I've always loved. And it's always nice to "meet" another fan of The Ritz.
Have you watched Contracorriente (undertow). I havent seen your 2009 and 2010 list so i maybe getting aheas of myself when i see it didnt make your 2011 list. Although i know this is your list i hope you have a chance to see this nice movie.
Hey, munmelad, I did see Undertow and gave it a favorable review here on DEEP DISH - but, unfortunately, many worthy films did not make my list.
