Remembering Ann Rutherford 1917 - 2012
Ann Rutherford, who died on Monday at age 94, appeared in many films, including twelve Andy Hardy movies as Mickey Rooney's girlfriend Polly (1937-42), A Christmas Carol (1938) as the Spirit of Christmas Past, Pride and Prejudice (1940), Orchestra Wives (1942), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947), They Only Kill Their Masters (1972), which was shot on the old Andy Hardy set, and Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood (1976). The actress also played Suzanne Pleshette's mother in two episodes of The Bob Newhart Show (1973-74), and she turned down Gloria Stuart's role in the 1997 film, Titanic. However, Rutherford will probably best be remembered as Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister, Careen, in the Academy Award-winning classic, Gone with the Wind (1939).
Below you can watch Rutherford in A Christmas Carol, Andy Hardy Gets Spring Fever and Orchestra Wives, and click here to watch an episode of Visiting...With Huell Howser featuring his lunch interview with her and actress Anne Jeffreys.

Sorry to hear of her passing she was always a warm presence in her films. Really enjoyed her in Orchestra Wives, that's a really great undiscovered film.
I believe with her passing only Olivia de Havilland remains of the cast of Gone With The Wind who had speaking parts.
