Top 10 Tuesday of Groovy Tunes: Dolly is workin' "9 to 5"

Each week I feature 10 groovy tunes that reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart during the last 50+ years. You can vote for your three favorites, and the five with the most votes move on to the following week when five new songs will be added to the list.

Last week Petula Clark remained in the top spot, receiving 23 votes out of the 157 cast - and Carly Simon and Barbra Streisand tied for fifth place, allowing them both to remain on the list. This week these lovely ladies will be challenged by Nancy Sinatra, Roberta Flack and Dolly Parton.

1) "Downtown"/Petula Clark (Last Week #1, Week 6) - #4 the week of February 27, 1965

2) "(They Long to Be) Close to You"/Carpenters (LW #5, W31) - 17 weeks on Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 1970

3) "I Will Always Love You"/Whitney Houston (W2) - #1 the week of February 27, 1993

4) "You're No Good"/Linda Ronstadt (W2) - #8 the week of February 22, 1975

5) "You're So Vain"/Carly Simon (LW #1, W8) - #4 the week of February 24, 1973

5) "The Way We Were"/Barbra Streisand (LW #4, W4) - #1 the week of February 23, 1974

7) "Theme from A Summer Place"/Percy Faith & His Orchestra (DEBUT) - #1 the week of February 27, 1960

8) "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'"/Nancy Sinatra (DEBUT) - #1 the week of February 26, 1966

9) "Killing Me Softly With His Song"/Roberta Flack (DEBUT) - #1 the week of February 24, 1973

10) "9 to 5"/Dolly Parton (DEBUT) - #1 the week of February 21, 1981
