My Top 10 Reasons to See 'Confessions of a Prairie Bitch'

So I saw that nasty Nellie Oleson last night at Davenport's here in Chicago - and she's turned out to be one funny gal who's not so mean after all. Okay, so she gets kind of bitchy about Melissa Sue Anderson - but with good reason. Nellie's portrayer, Alison Arngrim, is in town promoting her new book, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated, and she's performing her stand-up comedy show, in which she tells all about her years on TV's Little House on the Prairie. So here are my Top 10 reasons to go see her live on stage:

10) Fun stories about Liberace!

9) Heartwarming tales about bizarre Little House fans!

8) Learn who provided the voices of such TV characters as Underdog's Sweet Polly Purebred, Gumby and Casper the Friendly Ghost!

7) Hear about her and her gay father's amusing visit to a "Religion in Media" conference!

6) The Dance Fever with Deney Terrio Wardrobe Malfunction!

5) The Shocking Michael Landon "Going Commando" Revelation!

4) Her trip to Fantasy Island as a hooker with a sex monster named Tattoo!

3) Ask Alison anything on a card provided to you before the show begins!

2) Have her sign a copy of her book to you with "Your Pa smells like a dirty horse!"

1) And, finally, she might just let you try on Nellie's wig, which I'm sure would be a dream come true for many of you!

Now if that doesn't make you want to go see Alison's show, I don't know what will. For reservations to Confessions of a Prairie Bitch at 8 pm tonight, call Davenport's (1383 N. Milwaukee Ave) at (773) 278-1830 or go online at davenportspianobar.com. Tickets are $20, and there is a two-drink minimum. She will also be signing her book at Borders (2817 N. Clark) tomorrow (September 11) at 2 pm.
