Save Our Shows (Sordid Lives & Guiding Light)

Last month I blogged about the cancellations of both LOGO's Sordid Lives and CBS's Guiding Light. The former has been on the air for only one season, while the latter has been around for 72 years. However, both shows have their passionate fans who want to save them, and I personally would love to see SL and GL continue on. So here's the latest information on how you can help keep either series on the air:

Click here to sign the official Sordid Lives petition (last time I checked there were almost 2,400 signatures so far). You can also join either of these Facebook groups to get regular updates on the show's status: Save Sordid Lives and Petition to get Sordid Lives picked up by another network.

As for Guiding Light, there has been some recent encouraging news. Last Sunday several GL cast members attended the Young Women's Breast Cancer Research Foundation Gala in Pittsburgh, where they announced: "Keep your fingers crossed, there is something in the works!" Also, actors Peter Simon (Ed Bauer), Maureen Garrett (Holly Reade), and Rick Hearst (Alan-Michael Spaulding; he's in the above photo) have all been in talks to possibly return to the show sometime this summer, which should excite many folks.

Click here to sign the Guiding Light petition (almost 14,000 signatures since March 31). You can also find more information on how to save the show on Facebook's Keep The Light Shining! page and at Guiding Light Central.

Finally, you can now follow Guiding Light on Twitter and receive status updates at http://twitter.com/Guiding_Light.

I will keep you posted on any new Sordid/Light developments.

I hope my support helps a little. I would love for Guiding Light to stick around for another 72 years.

I will miss Guilding Light since it brought some of the finest actors in Hollywood: Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, Ruby Dee, Cisely Tyson, Kevin Bacon, to name a few. We will surely remember Charita Bauer (Bert Bauer) and the light will forever shine!@
